We are a family with roots in Europe as well as the Americas. Our experience includes living in several states of the USA as well as in the orient. We have traveled around the world twice and have also made trips to several countries in the Americas.

 

We have learned through these experiences that life is precious - that we must savor each moment that we are priviledged to live on this planet and must be good stewards of the earth and all tha is in and on the earth as well as in the waters and air.

 

We have learned that we must treasure and build community. We need each other. We have a need to serve each other and love each other. LOVE is a word that is used by many without much though or meaning. Love forgives all things.  Love serves others. The source of love and all energy is God.

 

We cannot exist for long without love. Love leads to respect for others and all creatures and life. Do you know that an infant left alone without touch and love but physical care will die! It is that loving touch of the parent or caregiver that sustains its life and gives the infant the will to live and grow. Surely, without love, we are dead!

 

HOPE is another very powerful word. Without hope we are dead. We have seen extremely poor people with little worldly possessions who have hope that substains them. We have also seen peoples of all ages, creeds, nationalities, and economic levels who live without real hope. Their trust is in things or power or their own self. In the end their life has no meaning.  For without love and hope they are really dead!

 

If you have both hope and love you will have compassion on those who are without hope or with misplaced hope. For we are called by our creator to participate in creation by sharing that love that sustains us.

 

Please note that I have not quoted biblical scripture. I don't need to. For in the core of your being you know that what I am saying  is true. All faiths attest to that. For that is how we were created. That is what it means to "be created in God's image". We are created for one purpose. That purpose is to love each other and our creator.
